1989 Poster

TOPIC:

Where there is humility, there is freedom.

Developed for a university brief on the theme “Where there is humility, there is freedom,” this poster references the Czech Velvet Revolution of 1989 while questioning how freedom is understood today.

By turning the Statue of Liberty into a bottle opener keychain, the design satirizes the commercialization and trivialization of such ideals—especially within the modern Czech context.

The juxtaposition of a historic symbol of freedom with an everyday, utilitarian object reflects on how values can be reshaped, diminished, or consumed in contemporary culture.
